Company Update: January 4, 2007

Vancouver, BC - January 4, 2007 - Even Technologies Inc. ("Even" or the "Company" TSX-V: ETI) advises it has been delayed in filing its annual financial statements and annual Management Discussion & Analysis related thereto for the year ended August 31, 2006 by the required filing date under applicable Canadian securities laws, namely December 29, 2006. As a result of such delay, Even voluntarily requested, and on January 3, 2007 the British Columbia Securities Commission (the "BCSC") issued, a temporary order that prohibits, effective immediately, certain directors, officers and insiders of Even from directly or indirectly trading in securities of Even.

The delay in filing Even's annual financial statements is that, due to the nature of its business, as well as a complex inter-corporate structure which includes a subsidiary in Barbados, among others, the consolidated reporting requirements of the Company necessitated, in the view of the Board of Directors, the Company changing its auditor in order to access audit services with a larger international perspective. As such, the Company changed its external auditor in November 2006, subsequent to its year ended August 31, 2006. As a result of this change, there was insufficient time for the Company's successor auditor to complete not only audit procedures for the most recently completed financial year, but also to review historic audits.

Even anticipates that it will be able to file its annual financial statements on or before January 31, 2007. Pending the filing of its annual financial statements, Even intends to satisfy the provisions of Appendix B to the Canadian Securities Administrators' Staff Notice 57-301 with respect to filing Default Status Reports on a biweekly basis during the period of default. Pursuant to CSA Staff Notice 57-301, if Even does not file its annual financial statements by February 27, 2007, it will generally be subject to a cease trade order without further notice. The BCSC has the discretion to impose a cease trade order at any time if it believes such is warranted.
